Planning permission
Most people will want to situate their building closer than 2 metres to their boundary. In this case, you will need to keep your building under 2.5m high to comply with current English planning restrictions. This is not a problem as we are well used to designing garden buildings to comply with these restrictions. A building to 2.5m high offers a very attractive contemporary design with a flat roof and a long-lasting EPDM rubber roof membrane.
If you have a large garden and you are able to situate your building further than 2 metres from any boundary then you can go up to 4m in height, depending on roof style, and choose a more traditional style of ridge or hipped roof with a choice of roof finishes including bitumen felt shingles (to residential standard) or slate effect shingles. Let us know where the shade is in your garden and which way the sun rises and we will design your building to optimise light throughout the day or design a building with a front canopy to avoid the glare of full sun. Then it's time for the fun bit, you can begin to think about the way you want your new garden room to look!
Access requirements
The access road must be passable for a larger truck (40 t). In most cases, this is an articulated lorry with semi-trailer/semitrailer. Such a vehicle is about 20 meters long. The driver needs space for turning and a larger parking area for unloading the goods. An alternative unloading area in the immediate vicinity (100 - maximum 200 meters) can also be provided thanks to the forklift truck. Are you in doubt whether your delivery address is easily accessible? Then be sure to discuss the delivery situation at your location in advance with one of the forwarding agent's helpful employees.
Delivery formats
Deliveries are generally made Monday to Friday between 7:00 and 20:00. The forwarding agent will contact you by telephone to state the delivery day and his time window. Please understand that due to traffic conditions it is not possible to give an exact time. If you are unable to attend, someone in your family or circle of friends will certainly find time to take delivery of the goods.
Please understand that an agreed delivery cannot be postponed again at short notice because the freight forwarder has to plan ahead with the freight space in the long term. Furthermore, the trailers are loaded several days in advance, so you need about 7 days' notice.
